Screeded floor heating systems are underfloor heating systems that have a screed layer poured on top of the pipework to produce a smooth base floor, onto which a floor covering such as laminate, tiles or vinyl can be laid.

- Liquid screed is quick to install on top of the underfloor heating system. It can take just one day to cover 1000m² of floor space
- Liquid screed dries quickly to allow light footfall within 24-48 hours, so other trades can get back onto site which keeps costs and delays to a minimum
- Because screed is poured onto the underfloor heating system, there is no issue with voids around the pipework that would cause heat to escape. The screed also self-levels to create a smooth, even floor. Both the coverage of the pipes and the self-levelling properties reduce manual intervention and associated costs
- Floor screeding produces no waste because only the volume of screed that is needed is pumped onto the floor. This reduces costs and environmental impact.

- Because of its strength, liquid screed can be laid very thinly at around 25mm, and its composition delivers exceptional thermal conductivity. Combined, these features of a screeded floor facilitate faster response times, and a powerful and even distribution of heat throughout the room
- The depth saved by the thin layer of screed allows for uprating the insulation underneath the underfloor heating system, which is critical for preventing the movement of heat downwards into the ground
- Screeded floor heating systems optimise energy efficiency which keeps running costs manageable and minimises carbon footprint.
Types of screeded floor heating systems
Types of screeded floor heating systems generally fall under one of two categories: wet and dry.
Wet screeded floor heating systems consist of a network of pipes through which hot water is pumped from the boiler or renewable energy supply such as an air source heat pump.
Dry screeded floor heating systems are powered by electricity through a system of cabling or mats.
