A screed floor is a subfloor that has been laid, ready for a final floor finish such as wood, tiles or laminate to be applied. A liquid screed floor can be laid as thinly as 25mm and has exceptional thermal conductivity which maximises the performance and efficiency of underfloor heating. This makes a screed floor the ideal layer over an underfloor heating system.

What is the difference between wet and electric underfloor heating?
There are two categories of underfloor heating systems: wet and electric (dry). When specifying underfloor heating systems it is important to understand what the differences between wet and electric underfloor heating are.
Wet underfloor heating systems
Wet underfloor heating systems are connected to a boiler and use high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes to circulate water from the central heating system.
Electric (dry) underfloor heating systems
Electric underfloor heating systems run off the electricity supply and consist of heating cables, ribbons and films.
Your choice of wet or dry underfloor heating will likely depend on budget, energy goals and the practicalities of connecting the room you want to heat to a boiler. Wet underfloor heating systems are more expensive to install but are considerably cheaper to run.
